Jun 30, 2018 · Unfortunately the machine caught me at a bad time between two business trips and so I have only been able to give it a spin hunting a sandy tot lot and some general park detecting, both in highly mineralized ground. The ground runs 7/8 on the cool Makro pie chart which would be 5 bars on the Fisher F75.

Jan 31, 2018 · Nokta/Makro has done something incredible with their detectors to keep them stable in the wet sand being that they are single frequency machines. I was truly impressed with that. A person that uses one of these great detectors for dirt hunting could take it to the beach and have success in the wet sand.

Noka/Makro needs a smaller coil for water or tight areas but for quick sand/land coverage this coil is fine. I will be using my Equinox with the smallest coil from now when I go into the surf as my shoulder is killing me. I don't think you could buy a better machine for the price, especially that could go on the wet beach, water for the money.

Since you have a CTx, would you mind posting how deep it can detect a U.S. Nickel in your wet sand? I would appreciate it. You want to compare a machine that costs 4 times as much. Feel free. Impressive machine so far... put it thru its paces. But a lot of machines have salt settings and can b used if thats what you have on most parts of the salt water beach. Did the machine give you a problem with over load nearer the water and did it require more air space between the coil and sand? Great write up by the way.
